Suncast tells you exactly when golden hour starts and where the sun, moon and Milky Way will be — accurate, simple, and fully offline.

Getting started

• Allow location (or search any place) to see today's golden hour, sunrise, sunset and twilight.
• Swipe the date to plan any future or past day.
• Tap Explore for the Milky Way planner, AR sky, sun-path map, moon, shoot planner and photo tools.
• Turn on a golden-hour reminder so you never miss the light.

FAQ

Are the times accurate? Yes — every time is computed on-device using standard astronomical algorithms (NOAA / Meeus), accurate to about a minute.

Does it work offline? Yes, completely. No internet needed.

Is there a subscription? No. Suncast Pro is a one-time purchase — yours forever. The core app is free.

The AR view doesn't show anything? Move outdoors and allow camera + compass access. If the compass seems off, tap "recalibrate" and move the phone in a figure-8.

Why is there "no Milky Way window tonight"? The galactic core may be below the horizon at night this time of year, or the moon is too bright. Try a date near a new moon during Milky Way season.
