Loupr collects no personal data. It is a camera magnifier. The video feed your camera sees is processed entirely on your iPhone. Nothing about you, what you point the camera at, or how you use the app is ever sent to a server.
iOS asks for permission the first time you launch Loupr. The camera feed is used only to show the live preview and feed Apple's on-device Vision framework for OCR. Frames are never written to disk unless you tap the Save button (which then writes a snapshot to your Photos library, with your separate permission). The camera stream does not leave your phone.
Text recognition uses Apple's Vision framework, which runs entirely on-device. Translation uses Apple's Foundation Models (iOS 26, iPhone 15 Pro and later) or the system Translation framework on older devices — both are on-device. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Google, or any other service.
The one-time Pro upgrade ($3.99) is processed by Apple's StoreKit 2. Apple handles payment, refunds, and tax. We receive only an anonymous transaction confirmation that this Apple ID has unlocked Pro.
Loupr has no content unsafe for children and collects no data, so it is suitable for all ages.
Loupr is a general-purpose magnifying tool. It is not a medical device, not a vision-correction product, not a diagnostic aid. If you have a vision condition, please consult a qualified eye-care professional.
If this policy changes we update this page and the Last updated date above. The app's Settings → Privacy Policy link always points to the current version.
