Privacy Policy

LiveHabit ("we", "our", "the app") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What We Collect

Habits and Completions. When you create a habit and mark it complete, the app stores the habit name, your chosen icon, color, category, identity statement, target, and the date/time of each completion locally on your device. This data is also synced to your private iCloud account so it appears on your other Apple devices.

AI Insights. When enabled, LiveHabit generates weekly observations about your habits 100% on your device. On iOS 26+ devices we use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. On older iOS we use a rule-based pattern engine. Either way, your habit data never leaves your device for insight generation.

Anonymous Cohort. When enabled, LiveHabit sends a one-way SHA-256 hash of each habit name + identity statement to our server (Cloudflare Workers). The server uses this hash to count how many people anonymously track similar habits. We cannot reverse the hash to recover habit text. We do not send any user identifier, IP address, device ID, name, email, or other personally identifying data with the hash. You can disable cohort participation anytime in Settings.

Motion & Fitness (optional). If you grant permission in Settings → Motion & Fitness, LiveHabit reads today's step count from your device's motion coprocessor (Apple's Core Motion framework) to auto-complete habits whose names contain words like walk, step, run, jog, exercise, or move. LiveHabit does not access Apple Health and does not read any other health, medical, or workout data. The step count is read on-device and is never sent off-device.

Device identifiers. A randomly generated device identifier is stored locally and in iCloud to resolve sync conflicts across multiple devices. This identifier is not personally identifying and is never sent to LiveHabit servers.

What We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any contact information.
We do not collect your location.
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not use advertising frameworks. The app shows no ads.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not share your data with any third party.
The cohort server does not log IP addresses or other identifiers.

Optional iCloud Drive backup file (only if you explicitly export)
Cohort server (Cloudflare KV): only anonymous habit hashes + counts

In-App Purchase

LiveHabit is free to download with up to 3 habits. Unlocking all features is a one-time purchase of $29.99 processed by Apple. Apple handles all payment information — we never see your card or billing details.

Children's Privacy

LiveHabit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

Delete all your data at any time by deleting the app and disabling iCloud sync in iOS Settings.
Export your habit data to CSV or JSON from Settings → Data → Export.
Disable Motion & Fitness access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → LiveHabit, or turn the Motion & Fitness toggle off in LiveHabit's Settings.
Opt out of anonymous cohort in Settings → Cohort.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date at the top indicates when it was last revised.
