Backdrop processes your photos and videos entirely on your device. Your footage, projects and edits stay on your device and are never uploaded to us or to any server. There is no account and no login, and we cannot see your content.
The camera and photo library are used only so you can record or import a clip and save your finished result back to your camera roll. The AI background removal (person segmentation) and the chroma-key green-screen tool both run locally using Apple frameworks on your device — no internet connection is required to edit or export.
Backdrop has no ads, no analytics SDKs and no third-party trackers. We do not collect, sell or share any personal data. Backdrop is a one-time purchase (Backdrop Pro), handled by Apple; we never see your payment details.
